I would like to offer you some unsolicited advice. This advice is back by 16+ years of training and coaching experience, take it or leave.
When it comes to choosing the right AAU program for next travel season, go with the team that wants your athlete. Do not stick around waiting for weeks on in, waiting for a spot post tryout. If your athlete goes to a try and you do not hear back, while other players receive offers, move on from that program/team. Especially if they are hosting multiple try outs. In order for your child to get better at the game of basketball, your child needs to play the game of basketball. Your athlete needs court time. So shy away from the big name and “elite” teams and find your child a spot on a team they will have a chance at playing.
Your athlete being on the national team, traveling all over the country sitting on the bench is not beneficial to your child’s development.
